Story
On Sunday 22nd September I will be taking on my first ever Ironman in Wales in memory of my beautiful daughter Amber.
Earlier this year I competed in an Olympic and Half Iron Man and have spent the remainder of the summer training for the full Iron Man. At a starting weight of 120kg the training volume and distances have been a huge challenge, mentally doubting if I would be up to the task. Keeping in mind my reason why has got me to the starting line.
Amber was a beautiful, cheeky little girl who brought us so much joy. Following her death we have created a foundation in her name ‘The Amber Townson Foundation’ (registered charity number: 1208420) to support the prevention of Sudden Death In Childhood, also referred to as SUDC.
Sudden death in childhood is the 4th leading cause of death in childhood and most commonly affects 1-4 year olds. Sadly, the cause is unknown and funding for further research is needed to prevent this happening to more children.
No donation is too small, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
